Fajah Lourens, born on the 3rd of july 1981. Her mother is Dutch and her father from the Dutch Antilles (Curaçao).

Fajah, meaning “Fire” in the Surinam language, is a real ‘self-made woman’.
Already working in an Amsterdam discothèque, she left home when she was 16 to explore the world. Together with an older girlfriend she traveled to India and by then she already knew that she wanted to become an actress.

She went to the Amsterdam’s youth Theater School and always said to her classmates “wait and see, I’ll get a role in the Dutch soap “Goede Tijden Slechte Tijden” (GTST).
Her motto is “believe in yourself and you’ll achieve your goals”. At age 21 she was chosen from 45 girls to play the role of Yasmine Fuentes in the popular series GTST (Good times, Bad times). Sad enough her father did not live long enough to see her do this. He died in January 2002.

By then she was a rising star and a year later she won the ‘Spits-Award’ for most promising young female talent. Fajah was seen on many magazine covers. FHM magazine never sold more copies than when her photos were published.

After three years of playing the role of Yasmine she decided to quit because she had a strong wish to become ‘Business Woman of the year’ and to be financially independent.
She opened a hotel in Amsterdam, organized the whole reconstruction of the building and decided to make 30 theme-rooms. Fajah sold the Aero Hotel in January 2009.

Meanwhile Fajah works as an actress in Costa, Kees en Co, Shouf Shouf the series.
In 2007 Fajah discovers poker by joining the TV program Veronica’s Poker. Together with 9 other famous Dutch people she learns how to play poker from poker players as Noah Boeken and Marcel Luske.

She won two tournaments and Noah Boeken called her a ‘natural talent’. Since then Fajah is totally into poker. In 2007 she plays the monthly online poker tournaments and in 2008 she does all main events in Holland Casino. The Master Classics is one of them.
In March of 2009 she won the poker tournament in the television series “Late Night Stars Of Poker”. She was the only female in the final.

Besides her passion for poker and acting she has another passion: Horse riding.
Fajah is the proud owner of two thoroughbred horses named Astumur and Amir. The father of Amir is Ekstern (3x World Champion Stallion jury). With Amir she won the titel spare champion at the Arabic stallion horses jury in 2006. With Astumur she is training in order to ride the Dutch championships Endurance 160 kilometers in 2010.

Her passion for horses was also displayed when she wrote and presented her own TV format “Horsepower” on local TV at RNN7 in 2007.
